The Emergency Housing Program at Benilde Hall is based on a housing-first model for Veterans experiencing substance use disorder and homelessness. Clients in the Emergency Housing Program can stay at Benilde Hall for up to 6 months. Unlike in the GPD Program, Veterans in the Emergency Housing Program are not required to attend groups. Emergency Housing residents do not pay any out-of-pocket costs to live at Benilde Hall.
Requirements for Veterans in the Emergency Housing Program:
- Maintain abstinence from substances
- Attend 1 individual case management session per week
- Actively seek permanent housing
