Benilde Hall's Veteran Wing Expansion Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Benilde Hall, in partnership with the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, cordially invites you to join us for our Veteran Wing Expansion Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. This momentous event will take place on Thursday, April 25th, at 11:30 AM, on Benilde Hall’s campus. This date also marks 2 years since our Groundbreaking Ceremony held on April 25th, 2022.
This expansion, made possible through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), signifies a significant milestone in our commitment to supporting our Veterans. The construction crew responsible for this remarkable achievement was Lytle Construction, Inc.—a team dedicated to turning our vision into reality.
This expansion means so much to us - it adds 8 single rooms with private bathrooms dedicated to Veterans in the Grant and Per Diem (GPD) program at Benilde Hall, allowing us to provide even more crucial support to those in need.
The project's success wouldn't have been possible without the generous support of the VA's Grant and Per Diem Program, providing a capital grant of $400,000 in 2022 and support from donors including the Sunderland Foundation, Veterans United Foundation, and many more!
**Impact Update:** In 2022, Benilde Hall served 85 Veterans through the Emergency Housing and GPD programs, with a remarkable 87% of them successfully completing their assigned programs, achieving abstinence from substances, securing housing, and consistent income. Moreover, 100% of the Veterans who completed our programs found housing after leaving Benilde Hall.
**We Invite You:** All members of the press and our community are warmly invited to join us on this significant day. Let's stand together in solidarity with our Veterans and celebrate this momentous occasion!
Spread the word and mark your calendars - together, let's honor our Veterans and their incredible service to our country!
Limited parking will be available, so please arrive early. Guided tours and refreshments will be provided, featuring BBQ and snack platters from Operation BBQ Relief and Price Chopper, along with cookies from Crumbl Cookies.
